_Here goes my third post (Click here to read others) on our great new discovery, "A Story Before Bed" and likely will not be my last. "A Story Before Bed" was created by a Microsoft developer who basically wanted to connect with his family when it physically wasn't possible. Many parents are not able to be in the classroom, but here's away to support the classroom, virtually, in a very lasting exciting way. Record a story that you've chosen from 600 books using "A Story Before Bed"! Your child's classroom virtual bookshelf will include your recorded stories. Readers using iPads, iPods or a computer will benefit listening and seeing you read!  We know successful readers are given plenty of opportunity to practice reading and listening/reading to stories they are interested in reading.

_Today starts the "QAE Story Before Bed" classroom contest! Which class will build the biggest virtual bookshelf? I had to do something to build excitement - so this contest was born! You can see by the graph how many books have been recorded for your child's classroom. I personally recorded a story (or two) for each classroom. Please join the excitement, take a moment, select a book you like and record it for  your child and his/her peers. Click here for more instructions to get started. During library and computer time we will be looking at classroom shelves.

Ideas for creative readings: Sit with your partner/spouse and record a story together, invite other family members to read, read with your child and have them add to the story with sounds and effects, have your child to a solo reading!

A story recorded by you and listened to by your child's classmates: PRICELESS

Happy Recording!
