In December, the QAE staff decided to turn that second session of PE into Tech Ed. I am very excited to be starting this new program with our 2nd -5th graders. We have started the program with two big projects. The first is learning to keyboard with Typing Club. With the addition of our new iPad friendly keyboards, students bring their iPads to the library and are becoming serious typists! Kids can also log on from a PC or laptop at home. They shouldn't use a tablet unless they have an external keyboard, and then they will need to download the Ed Club app and use the school code, qaetc before logging in. But if kids are using a computer, all they have to do to access Typing Club is go to the library homepage, click "Resources", "Keyboarding" "Typing Club" and then enter their user name and password. Their user name is their QAE google email address. It is their first initial, middle initial and last name, followed by @qae.us and then their birthday, using two numbers for both month and day, followed by the year in which they were born.

As we move forward I am hopeful we can dig a little deeper into coding, making the most of our digital tools, and finding apps and websites that will enhance our learning.
