Welcome to a new school year! Here is the first library post, a little later than I like, but indeed filled with important information and a cry for support. First, To our new QAE families, welcome to a very special community! The QAE library is for everyone - before and after school and during all recesses. The library has a collection of over 10K books, over 120 series, iPads, digital cameras, and iPods - and a librarian who cares very much about the happiness of all students.
Our library website: qaelibrary.org. On the home page you can read library expectations, browse Resources, see the series available. browse books and find my blog. Thanks in advance for bookmarking the library website on your home computer for access ease. Here's the cry for support - the library needs additional volunteers as soon as possible. We have many new students, checking out lots of books therefore having many books that need to be put back on the shelf. Do you have an hour a week to be in the library? If so, please let me know. You'd be doing important work - making a difference in helping our students find those "just right" books. Let me know if you can be with us and we'll schedule time to work together to show you how the library is organized. Please forward this post to others that may be interested in being apart of the library family. We have grandparents, aunts and uncles that join us each week. It's a beautiful thing, with more benefits than I can list. Did I mention there's a espresso machine in the library? Please if you have any questions about volunteering in the library. If you're already sold, and ready to sign up (Yahoo! Yippee!), email me and I will respond with a welcome letter and our schedule for you to find the perfect time.
This is the first of many posts! Thank you for taking time to read them all. As librarian I connect with all the students each week, my blog helps continue those connections at home.
