I am writing this blog as I sit in Ms. Hunter's classroom while 26 amazing fourth graders read or listen to one of thousands of books on his/her iPad. Glancing around, some are browsing non fiction, graphic novels, biographies or a great picture book. These books are delivered through a new service called EPIC. The name is appropriate for many reasons, but mostly because it's all free. Students can access EPIC from any device, login with their class login, and find their reader profile - and best of all continue reading where he or she left off.
Students that want to connect their EPIC profile to their home device should download the app and log in with their teacher's email address and use the password: readers. I will always love real books, the feel, the smell and the joy it gives me. But when I away from home, in the car or long flight, I like to carry my iPad and enjoy book another way. It's a beautiful thing. In Partnership with you! Jeffrey |
