Yesterday, I visited the site and wandered around getting a feel for the space. I was alone doing my back and forth game I usually do when moving into any new place. After my third time entering the library, I departed knowing this was going to be a very special place for everyone. The windows all open and have wide ledges for plantage. The light will be amazing, but will have sleek blinds incase it's too amazing. No shelves have been installed so I couldn't vision the placement of the books. I am trusting that the designers made enough room for our 8000 new books. Whahooty!
Next week, my little family departs again for one last blast of sunshine. I'll miss the shelves being delivered, but I'll be back in time for the collection to be placed on August 22.
A new librarian in a new library, amazing teachers, unbelievable community, daughter going to QAE in 2013 (maybe 2012), five minutes drive (15 minute walk) to school - does it get any better? Thinking not so much.
