I shared in the last blog post that students will be have the option during recess to play games in the library. Looking for parent volunteers be in the library and lab during 12:00 - 1:00 - Wednesdays and Fridays are available!

Please consider the following if you donate games to the library:
  • check that game has all pieces and directions (can be downloaded if missing)
  • maybe include labeled baggies for the pieces - easy for set up and put away
  • put strong clear tape on the corners and edges of the game for durability.
Or perhaps you'd like to donate a new game - here's the library's  Games, Games, Games Amazon Wishlist.  The list is not complete and you likely have more suggestions, please let me know.

Have a great break!

After mid-winter break, students will have the option at recess to play games in the library. We are looking to build the game collection (QAE Game Wish List) to include chess, checkers, Sorry, Chinese checkers, card games, what else?  - the closet is bare and ready to be filled. If you have a game or two that you would like to donate please share with us! Game playing in the library will be everyday. The computers in the library will be only for book browsing, reading and listening to books.

Would you like to play game games with students? - I would love your support! Another option for students during recess is  the computer lab, working on e-Folios, exploring the QAE Resources, or word processing  - computer lab during recess will begin when we have volunteers to be with the students. Please let me know.

Looking for generous parents to be in the lab and library from 12:00-1:00. Giving our kids options during recess is a good thing.

Students and parents are invited to browse the "Take One Leave One" cart, located in the library hallway and take any book they would like to add to their home library. We are also asking that students think about books they'd like share with others and add to the cart. Recycling books - A VERY GOOD THING!

Through our QAE Explorer Store Dr. Seuss hats can be purchased! This will be a great way to not only celebrate reading aloud, but to honor the man who hooked many of us with his stories and rhyme! Click here to view the hats: Adults and Children sizes. If you are able, please order an extra to share.

Hi families,

During the winter break, coats, sweaters and pants were all donated from the Lost and Found to Wellsprings Family Center.  Homeless families will be able to outfit their kids and hopefully have a warm winter.

Now that kids are back to school there are Lost and Found items.  I encourage anyone who is missing something to check at the top of the stairs in the Treehouse.  There is a rack of items and boxes with things that can't be hung up like water bottles and lunch boxes.  Here are some pictures of several items.

Thanks,
 Mindy
