Students have been reading all the 2011 WA Picture Book Nominees and now they are asked to choose their favorite. The results will be shared with the author, publisher and the nomination committee.

Recommendations for book titles in the new library are requested. Please discuss with your child if there are books they would like to see in the new library. We have a large group of high readers that enjoy reading series books; what series are we missing? I visited the new space this week and it's looking nice! Home sweet home! The QAE library will include 8,000 new titles, a curved circulation desk, lots of natural light with wide window sills calling out for plants, a learning/teaching area with seating for 30, a story area, six computers for look-up and research with adjustable chairs and a sink. Exciting times!

Almost 20 years teaching, I can't remember a more special week being so appreciated! I've been gifted with cards, gift cards, special notes, plants shared by many wonderful students and parents. Teaching is the world's greatest profession, and I am honored and proud to say that I AM a teacher, a truly RICH teacher! Each day I have the privilege to inspire, guide, entertain, foster, educate, encourage and adore students. This year has been particularly extraordinary working with the most incredible teachers and leader of my career. Never have I been apart of a organization with everyone all on the same page on how students learn best and how they should be treated. This year has had bumps, it's been a real learning journey. Next year we will move into our new home and so begins the next chapter. Let the wild rumpus start!
